A Novel Perspective on Tissue Engineering Potentials of Periodontal Ligament Stem Cells

It is challenging to completely and predictably regenerate the missing periodontal tissues caused by trauma or disease. To periodontium, there a need consider several aspects that co-occur with development. This study provides an overview of most up-to-date investigations on characteristics immunomodulatory features Periodontal Ligament Stem Cells (PDLSCs) recent interventions performed using these cells, focusing cell survival, proliferation, differentiation. Keeping in mind relationship between age potency PDLSCs, this work also demonstrates necessity establishing dental-derived stem banks for tissue regeneration applications. The data were collected from Pubmed Google Scholar databases keywords ligament engineering, characteristics, therapy. results showed presence wide-ranging research reports supporting usability PDLSCs reconstruction. However, better understanding self-restoration adequate regulation adult growth needed various applied purposes.
